About James E. Knox & Son, Inc.

The Knox family has been serving local customers in the mid-shore area since 1954. James E. Knox started the company James E. Knox Plumbing which offered skilled, reliable, reasonably priced plumbing installation and service to the local residents and contractors.

Wally Knox joined his father in the business in 1970. The business name was then changed to James E. Knox & Son Plumbing. With the addition of Wally, the plumbing company continued to expand its customer base and provided accumulated experience of the father and son team.

In 1975 James E. Knox & Son Plumbing became James E. Knox & Son Plumbing and Heating, Inc. after Wally and his father saw these two types of services as compatible. The expansion was a successful transformation and has proven to be very insightful due to the current trend toward geothermal heating and air, which requires both plumbing and HVAC experience.

Chad Knox, Wally's son, joined the company in 1994, establishing is as a third generation business. With the inclusion of Chad, the company continues to grow in both plumbing and heating areas. Wally and Chad provide an appropriate combination of knowledge and skill that comes with an extensive family history in the fields of plumbing and heating and air conditioning.

The Knox family participants are not limited, but formerly included Katherine, the wife of the late James E. Knox, as Office Manager, currently include Laurie Knox, as Office Manager and Claudia, Wally's wife, as occasional office replacement.

To add to the extended sense of family and team, there has been virtually no turnover rate of Knox employees. One technician has worked for Knox for 20 years, while other employees have been employed for 10, 12, and 17 years. This allows Knox to provide continuous familiarity with customers' equipment, as well as customers' ongoing needs.

The Knox family business is definitely a team in action with customer service the top priority.
